Job Description: Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (ANIII, CWOCN) - Clinical Practice & Professional Development

The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System - Administrative Nurse III, CWOCN is a Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for developing and supervising of nursing services of one or more nursing units in the in-patient and/or out-patient departments utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model as the framework.

The Administrative Nurse III manages direct patient care and takes initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence Based Practice and Magnet's Five Models of Care into clinical practice. Through therapeutic relationships with patients, families, self and colleagues, the Administrative Nurse III functions as a professional who manages quality patient care and facilitates achievement of unit and organizational goals.

Requirements include:

- RN License required.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in Wound and Ostomy patient care required.
- Demonstrated experience in Wound and Ostomy patient care required.
- Bachelor\'s degree and/or Master\'s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Willingness to begin a MSN or DNP/PhD program within 1 year of hire if does not already possess an advanced degree.
- CWOCN Certification or willingness/ability to begin CWOCN certification within 6 months of hire and successfully attain CWOCN within 18 months of hire.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between patients, families and staff.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in Cerner with on-the-job training.
- Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills and work history required.
